Getting a handle on weeds

Landholders and farmers wanting to learn how to control weeds to help improve land productivity are invited to a workshop in Dooralong on Wednesday 21 October 2015.

Greater Sydney Local Land Services is inviting landholders and farmers to explore the key features of weeds, including identifying the top 10 central coast weeds at a workshop where they will develop skills in how to control these weeds on their property.

The workshop will include a practical how-to session on various weed control methods, including the use of chemicals, mechanical and biological control.

The workshop will be conducted by Paul Marynissen, Wyong Shire Council's Weeds Officer and Robyn Urquhart, a Conservation and Land Management teacher with TAFE.

The workshop will be held at the Salvation Army's Transformation Centre in Dooralong on Wednesday 21 October from 9.30 am – 2.30 pm and includes morning tea and lunch.
